The USA Shooting Team is comprised of the top Olympic-style shooters in the country. For those that have dedicated their dreams to the pursuit of the Olympic path, the USA Shooting Team is a stepping stone to the top of the podium. As athletes (both junior and open division shooters) deliver top notch performances, they are named to one of the Teams. The first step is the National Junior Team, which is open for athletes under 20 years of age. As a shooter, you can earn a spot on the National Junior Team through National Championships, National Junior Olympic Championships for Shooting and more. To learn more about the specific criteria, please see the selection document.
Shooters over 20 years of age (and talented youth who qualify) are eligible to make the National Development Team. Athletes on this team have shown promise as a future Olympian. The National Development Team is nominated and approved by a committee comprised of coaches, the executive director and athlete representatives.
The National Team includes the top pistol, rifle and shotgun athletes in the country. These individuals have demonstrated consistent success on a national level. Additionally, athletes on the National Team travel around the world representing the USA at various World Cups, World Championships and Intercontinental Championships.
