Sarah graduated from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas. As a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Champion, she visited the White House and met President Obama.  Her brother, Stephen, was a 2008 rifle Olympian. Her hobbies include church ministries, clay crafts and Latin ballroom dancing.  Sarah is related to Daniel Boone and Charles Spurgeon.

Suffered through a debilitating lower back injury over a 15-month span in 2014 and 2015 that required two different surgeries and unable to train or compete during that time.  Picked the gun back up in September of 2015 to try and earn a spot in Rio. Sarah also work as a registered dietitian.
