Hometown: Rockland, Massachusetts

Events: Women’s 10m Air Rifle, Women’s 50m Rifle Three Position

Personal: "The first time I shot smallbore rifle was at the Massachusetts Junior Conservation Camp, under the instruction of Mike Yacino, in August of 2008 - that sparked my interest in shooting. From there I partook in a junior rifle program at my Papa's gun club, the Monument Beach Sportsmen's Club. But after learning the fundamentals there, at my dad's urging, I began to compete and so I joined a different team at the Taunton Rifle and Pistol Club. I shot with the Taunton Marksmanship Unit for four years. I began shooting air rifle in December of 2010 at the urging of at the time Massachusetts State Coach, Rick Johnson. He had been trying to get me to shoot Air Rifle for months. Every match that I went to he would bring it up, and I kindly declined his offer each time until the Junior Olympic qualifiers, because at that point I thought, "Well, what do I have to lose?" At that match, I qualified for my first Junior Olympic event and Air Rifle has been my favorite ever since...My greatest athletic influence comes from the coaches I have been able to train under. If it were not for the guidance of Kevin Winters, Erik Hoskins, and Sid Martin, I would not have been able to go into college with a strong foundation both mentally and physically in terms of shooting. And while at the University of Kentucky, Harry Mullins, Ashley Rose, and all of my teammates have helped me succeed throughout the year.”

May is currently attending the University of Kentucky. She, along with all of her family, are blackbelts in tae kwon do. Her career goal is to work on a film production crew in Europe.
