Dr. James Lally was first introduced to USA Shooting during a World Cup in 1993. His medical practice was in close proximity to the Chino Shooting Range in California, and USA Shooting was looking for a team physician. In 1998, he was elected to the USA Shooting Board of Directors and was first named President in 2004. After a term as an at-large director, Lally assumed the position of President at the May 2013 Board of Directors meeting of USA Shooting.
His path began in the U.S. Army, where he followed in the footsteps of his father and older brother. He quickly advanced through basic combat training to Airborne and Ranger schools, but ultimatly shifted his efforts toward becoming a medical corpsman in the Special Forces. Dr. Lally made time to attend medical school, and after serving 15 years in the U.S. Army he earned a service medal for heroism.
Dr. Lally is married with two children and is currently the President and Chief Medical Officer of Prime Health Services, Inc., at the Chino Valley Medical Center.
