Are you ready to begin the USA Shooting
Advanced Coach Certification Program?

There are certain prerequisites or 'readiness indicators' before begining the USAS Advanced Coach certification program.  You will be able to determine if you are ready to start the Advanced Coach certification program by completing the following readiness assessment.

Athough this assessment is for your use to determine your readiness to begin the Advanced Coach certification program, not being honest in your self assessment will result in a less than satisfactory evaluation during the ground course which may delay or even prevent you from achieving the Advanced Coach Certification.

Simply completing the courses is NOT a guarantee that you will earn the Advanced Coach Certification at the end of the ground course.

If you scored:

  • 0 to 9 points you are not ready to begin the Advanced Coach Certification Program, but you can still take any of the online courses.
  • 10-18 points - you are ready to begin the Advanced Coach Certification Program.
  • More than 18 points and you are an excellent candidate for the Advanced and High Performance Coach certification programs.

Also, when you have created an account in the ePath learning management system there is a tab called 'My History' and you will see a tab called 'Accomplishments' where you can upload your 'coach resume'.

Please create a coach focused resume with details about your coaching history, past and current activities, athlete training programs, etc.  Here are some suggestions:

1. What has been the competitive experience and success of your athletes at State, Regional, and National level e.g. State JORC competition, National JORC results, USAS National Championships, CMP National air rifle championships, etc.  Scores of your athletes would be helpful.

2. List any non-local shooting camps your athletes have attended.

3. Please describe your role in a typical training week with your athletes, intermediate and above.

4. Give us an idea of your responsibilities in matches hosted by your club.

5. Describe the focus of your club program e.g. 3 position air rifle, 3 position .22 smallbore, Int'l air rifle, air pistol, sport pistol, International Skeet, bunker trap, etc.

6. Have you been an active participant as a coach in shooting camps at locations other than your club? If so, please name them and when.

These are just some ideas of what to put into your coach resume

This 'Accomplishments' web page also allows you to upload any and all certifications from other organizations (NRA, CMP, ATA, NSSA, etc.).
