Purpose of this Resource Page

These organizations recognized that each had their strengths, but individually they do not provide a single source of information or support for starting up school shooting programs. This web page is the ‘one stop shop’ for information and support to startup school shooting programs.

The issues to starting up school shooting programs are:

  • Finding or building shooting facilities
  • Funding for facilities, guns and equipment, competition travel, etc.
  • Acquisition of guns and equipment (what to get, where to get it)
  • Startup ‘how-to’ information (check lists, success stories, etc.)

General Information

The following links to information and resources have been provided by the above organizations to help parents, students and coaches start up new shooting programs and help grow current shooting programs.

Education Options

The public education system (high school and college) create serious challenges for parents and athletes who want to pursue the Olympic path, but USAS national competitions don't all occur during the summer months. Many public schools only allow a student to be absent for three days participating in non-school functions/events.

Parents and athletes need more flexibility with education requirements, athlete training and time away to compete in various USAS national competitions. There are options: home schooling and online schools. Below are some online schools that you might want to consider.
