U.S. Olympic Trials Double Trap Results

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (October 1, 2011)

Glenn Eller (Katy, Texas), the 2008 Men's Double Trap Olympic gold medalist, emerged as the front runner from the Fall Selection/U.S. Olympic Trials for Shotgun match today.  In the first 300 targets of the Trials, Eller nailed 275 targets despite windy conditions the first day.  Billy Crawford (Johnstown, Ohio) finished four targets behind Eller with 271 targets.  Jeff Holguin (Yorba Linda, Calif.) shot 270 targets for third place and Derek Haldeman (Sunbury, Ohio) was one down with 269 targets. Kelcey Depatis (Donovan, Ill.) broke 256 targets for fifth place and Ian Rupert (Muncy, Pa.) shot 252 targets.  With the top three shooters within five targets of each other, and the top six separated by only 23 targets, the Spring Selection match for the U.S. Olympic Trials for shotgun will bring fierce competition.  Please navigate here to view Men's Double Trap scores.  
 
In Men's Skeet, 2008 Olympic gold medalist is Vincent Hancock (Eatonton, Ga.) is leading the way with 196 out of 200 targets.  With 50 targets left, BJ Blanchard (Vidor, Texas) is right behind Hancock at 195 targets.  Nipping right at their heels are Frank Thompson (Alliance, Neb.) and Jon Michael McGrath (Tulsa, Okla.) with 193 targets each.  Their female counterparts in Women's Skeet are also closely situated.  Morgan Craft (Hughesville, Pa.) has 187 targets followed closely by Caitlin Connor (Winnfield, La.) and Brandy Drozd (Bryan, Texas) with 186 targets.  Just one target behind is Ali Chiang (Redwood City, Calif.) at 185 targets.  For skeet scores, please click here.  The match continues tomorrow with the final 50 targets of the first leg of U.S. Olympic Trials, where we will identify the leaders for the U.S. Olympic Team.
