U.S. Olympic Trials for Shotgun: Men's & Women's Skeet Results

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (October 2, 2011)

wm skeetVincent Hancock (Eatonton, Ga.), the 2008 Men’s Skeet gold medalist, is the leader after the first leg of the U.S. Olympic Trials for Shotgun.  Hancock surged ahead with 246 match targets and created room between himself and the competition.  BJ Blanchard (Vidor, Texas) is three targets behind with 243 match targets.  Junior shooter Jon Michael McGrath (Tulsa, Okla.) and veteran Mark Weeks (Columbus, Ga.) are in third place tied at 241 targets.  Frank Thompson (Alliance, Neb.) shot 240 match targets followed by Shawn Dulohery (Foristell, Ga.) with 239 targets.

In Women’s Skeet, young Morgan Craft (Hughesville, Pa.) has a one target lead over Brandy Drozd (Bryan, Texas) with 234 targets.  Drozd shot 233 targets to keep the pressure on Craft heading into the second round of U.S. Olympic Trials in the spring of 2012.  Ali Chiang (Redwood City, Calif.) is in third place with 232 match targets.  Caitlin Connor (Winnfield, La.) is right behind her with 230 match targets. Jaiden Grinnell (Port Angeles, Wash.) and Amber English (Colorado Springs, Colo.) round out the top six competitors with 225 and 221 targets respectively.   

For complete scores and rankings, please visit the iclays results; however, please note that scores from the final round (if applicable) do not count toward U.S. Olympic Selection.  The score used for selection to the U.S. Olympic Team only includes the match score (ten rounds of 25 targets for a total of 250 targets).
