USAS to Host Paralympic Rifle and Pistol Camp

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (May 6, 2011)

Thanks to a grant from the Veterans Administration, USA Shooting is offering a Paralympic rifle and pistol camp from June 15 to 20 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center (OTC) in Colorado Springs. This particular camp is only for U.S. Military Veterans with a physical disability likely to classify them as eligible for the Paralympic Games. Airfare or mileage as well as food and lodging will be provided. The camp is designed to help prepare athletes for the USAS National Championships (USASNC) in Ft. Benning, Ga., from July 1 to 8. USASNC will be an International Paralympic Committee (IPC) approved event where athletes can shoot a Minimum Qualifying Score (MQS) to possibly be eligible for selection to the 2012 Paralympic Team. The number of MQS scores fired may also help UAS Shooting earn berths for U.S. athletes to compete in London 2012. If interested, please complete the application from the downloads (first item under "Coaching")and send it to the Paralympic Shooting Coach at Bob.Foth@USAShooting.org as soon as possible.
