Meet the Athlete: Glenn Eller

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (May 9, 2011)

Meet Sergeant Glenn Eller (Katy, Texas), the 2008 Men’s Double Trap Olympic gold medalist and member of the National Shotgun Team. Eller is also enlisted in the U.S. Army and stationed at the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit in Fort Benning, Ga. In 2010, Eller was the gold medalist at the USA Shooting National Championships for Shotgun. That performance, combined with a top ten finish in the Fall Selection match, secured a spot on the 2011 International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Clay Target Team. Eller will be traveling to Belgrade, Serbia to shoot for the USA from September 3 to 14. At the 2011 ISSF World Cup Chile, Eller’s gun turned up missing upon arrival in the country. Despite the setback, he borrowed Australian Russell Marks’ gun and finished in eleventh place.

Eller is back on track with a new Beretta. He has shot over 10,000 rounds in nearly two months in preparation for this year’s USA Shooting National Championships for Shotgun and the next World Cup in Maribor, Slovenia. Eller began shooting at 8 years old under the direction of Jay Herbert. When he’s not training, Eller enjoys hunting and golf. To learn more about Eller, read his complete biography.
