Skeet Competitors Named For First Three World Cups

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado (November 15, 2014)

The Fall Selection Match wrapped today in Tillar, Arkansas with the conclusion of Men’s and Women’s Skeet and six more athletes named to the teams of the first three International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF) World Cups in 2015.

The Men’s side will be led by the same men who earned a team silver medal at the ISSF World Championship (pictured): 2014 National Champion Dustin Perry (Lovelady, Texas), 2012 Olympic gold medalist Vincent Hancock (Eatonton, Georgia) and 2012 Olympian Frank Thompson (Alliance, Nebraska).

The Women will be led by a strong trio as well in 2012 Olympic gold medalist Kim Rhode (El Monte, California, pictured below), 2014 National Champion Morgan Craft (Muncy Valley, Pennsylvania) and two-time World Cup silver medalist Caitlin Connor (Winnfield, Louisiana).

The Fall Selection Match served as the second phase of selection for the first three upcoming World Cup competitions to begin 2015 including events in Acapulco, Mexico and Al Ain, United Arab Emirates in March and Laranaca, Cyprus in late April where the top-three athletes will compete. The 2014 National Championships in August in Colorado served as part one of the rigorous selection process.

The Fall Selection Match is also serving as the first of a two-part selection process for the Pan American Games (July), the last World Cup of 2015 in Gabala, Azerbaijan (August) and the 2015 World Clay Target Championships (September).

Hancock and Perry won first and second place respectively in the Men’s competition at Fall Selection, followed by TJ Bayer (College Station, Texas) who finished in third place. He, along with Amber English (Colorado Springs, Colorado) who tied Craft for third place in this Match and World Championship team member Haley Dunn (Eddyville, Iowa) put themselves in strong position for a Team slot when the Spring Selection Match occurs in April.
