Keith Sanderson started shooting in 1996 in Marine Corps matches. He spent eight years in the Marine Corps and eight years in the U.S. Army and was the Chief Marksmanship Instructor for Marine Corps Base Hawaii. Sanderson won an unprecedented three medals (one gold, one silver and one bronze) in three World Cups in 2009.

Nominated to his third Olympic Team through USA Shooting's Olympic Points System after a 2015 season in which he earned three top-six World Cup finishes including a silver medal at World Cup Munich.
