Event: Men's 10m Air Pistol, Men's 50m Smallbore Rifle

Nick grew up hunting and fishing in Montana, as well as shooting with his parents. It was with them he developed a love for the sport of precision shooting. His mother, Zona, worked with a man who introduced Nick to NRA High-power rifle competition. In the winter, Nick also participated in NRA Bullseye Pistol Leagues, and found his niche. He was the four-time aggregate Collegiate Pistol Champion in 2008, 2010, 2011 and 2012 and was the NRA National Rifle Junior Champion in Camp Perry, Ohio in 2008.

Nick joined the Army World Class Athlete Program (WCAP) in 2012 and currently trains at the Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He’s a World Cup medalist in both pistol and rifle disciplines, a very rare accomplishment. After winning a spot on the Tokyo 2020 U.S. Olympic Team in air pistol, Nick has his sights set on Smallbore Rifle Trials, where if he secures a spot on the smallbore rifle team, he will be the first USA Shooting athlete to compete in both disciplines at the Games.

When Nick competed at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, he was a recent college graduate and the youngest member of the men’s free pistol field at age 23. Eight years later he’s set to return, this time competing in air pistol as a husband, a father, and a sergeant in the U.S. Army Reserve.
