Biennial Coach Conference

2017 Biennial Coach Conference Registration

25 - 27 August

Olympic Training Center, Colorado Springs CO

Registration ends 10 August 2017

We are working on delivering 12 or more presentations and panel discussions on topics that you recommended from a coach 'hot topic' survey late last year. We are lining up content experts/presenters and a keynote speaker that you will not want to miss.

We are piloting a live Internet broadcast of the Biennial Coach Conference to those who cannot travel to Colorado Springs. In the registration form you will have a choice of attending the conference here in Colorado Springs at the Olympic Training Center (OTC) or register for the Internet broadcast that you can watch from home with no travel expenses. You will be emailed a link to the live broadcast a few days before the start of the conference.

The live conference will be held at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs as usual for those who would like to come to the OTC and network with coaches from all over the country.  We have occassional visiting coaches from outside the US.

Special Events

This year we will have a naming ceremony for the Lones Wigger Legacy Hall and Shooting Center on Friday evening 25 August and the Hall of Fame induction banquet on Saturday evening. We are expecting a large turnout and with VIPs from our allied shooting organizations and industry.

At this time we tentativey expect to start Friday morning with one or more pre-conference clinics. The official opening of the Conference will begin at 1pm on Friday 25 August, ending at 12 Noon on Sunday.

Lodging and Lunches

There will be no OTC dorm rooms available if you travel to Colorado Springs. However we have negotiated special rates for some local hotels. Click here to download the discounted hotel rates information

Click here for the Colorado Springs Visitor Center for additional hotel listings.

Colorado Springs is a tourist destination. Make your hotel reservations as soon as possible.

We will also have OTC dining hall lunch tickets available at the Coach Conference Welcome Desk in the West Wing Conference Center for $10 each.

Our keynote speaker will be Raymond Prior the author of the Bullseye Mind. Tentatively we are planning on the following topics: sport pscyhology, fundraising, ammo testing, USAS athlete panel - "what makes a good coach?", how to coach millenials, a coach panel - "three things to make a successful youth program", ISSF rules update, media training, USAS Youth Programs update, USAS Coach Academy update, pre-conference shotgun clinic at the USAS Shotgun range, just to name a few.

Registration Fees

Pre-paid Registration for the onsite three day Conference will be $180 up to 10 August. Registrations after 10 August (day of, walk-in registrations) will be $200, IF there are seats available.

The Internet broadcast registration is $90. You will recieve a special hyper link to the broadcast a few days before the Conference.

No refunds after 10 August.

If you are working with disabled vets/athletes (Paralympic shooting sports), you may qualify to have your registration fee paid for by Bob Foth. Contact Bob Foth directly to see if you qualify for a free Conference registration.

Paid registrations will receive free access to all of the recorded presentations about 30 days after the end of the Conference. These presentations will be available online in the USAS Coach Academy.

The USA Shooting Coach Academy

If you have not already, those attending the Conference onsite at the OTC are required by the USOC to take the (free) USA Shooting Safe Sport Policy training.

Even if you are not attending the conference at the OTC, the USAS Safe Sport training is important information to protecting athletes, protecting coaches and protecting clubs. It only takes one multi $million lawsuit to close a club. Click here to register for the USAS Safe Sport training.

Also, all coaches are highly encouraged to take the free USA Shooting Coach Code of Conduct. As in Safe Sport we need to raise the ethical standards of our shooting sports. Click here to register for the free USAS Coach Code of Conduct training.

The Biennial Coach Conference occurs only every other year. Don't miss out on this event. Register today and put this important event on your calendar.

Registration ends 10 August 2017
