ISSF World Cup USA: Women's 25m Sport Pistol

FORT BENNING, Ga. (May 18, 2011)

Womens 25m Sport Pistol produced the first new Final World Record of any event at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup USA. China’s Chen Ying, the 2008 Olympic Games gold medal winner was the record-breaking gold medalist today with an impressive 591 qualification points. She continued to awe the crowd with 205.7 points in the final and the new Final World Record for a total score of 796.7 points. Gundegmaa Otryad of Mongolia was the beaming silver medalist with 585 qualification points and 204.8 points in the final for 789.8 total points. She picked up Mongolia’s first Women’s 25m Pistol quota for the London 2012 Olympic Games. The bronze medalist was India’s Rahi Sarnobat who climbed the ranks after entering the final in last. Sarnobat was the only shooter to nail all 10s in the final with the highest final score of 207.7. Combined with 582 qualification points, she finished with 789.7 total points for India’s first Women’s 25m Pistol quota as well.

The USA Shooting Team's Petty Officer First Class Sandra Uptagrafft (Los Angeles, Calif.) was the highest placing American in thirty-eighth place with 573 points.
