Kate Gest Joins USA Shooting as Newly Hired Assistant Manager, Public Relations and Communications

Kate Gest joins USA Shooting as Assistant Manager, Public Relations and Communications.

As the Assistant Manager, PR & Communications, Gest will support, coordinate, and manage the tactical communication initiatives for all internal and external partners. She will provide long-term strategic direction for USA Shooting and work to increase engagement of USA Shooting membership and industry partners.

“We are very excited to bring Kate on staff. Her combined knowledge, skill and experience as well as her passion for the shooting sports creates a great fit for our organization,” said Bob Gambardella, Interim CEO USA Shooting. “Kate’s ability to help us tell our story will create another level of perspective as we continue to engage our athletes, membership, sponsors and partners.”

Gest brings experience in the sport of shooting and communications. An avid outdoors enthusiast, she grew up hunting, hiking, and fishing and spends weekends trap, and skeet shooting. She has worked with a variety of companies both profit and non-profit. Gest’s background of client management and her degree in Multimedia Journalism from Virginia Tech will make an easy transition into the role of communicating the USA Shooting message.

“I was attracted to the communications opportunity because of the perfect blend of my education, experience, and passion for the sport I grew up participating in and continue to enjoy. It’s exciting to be a part of something bigger than myself,” said Gest. “I intend to bring a fresh perspective, and help to bring the voice of USA Shooting to the public.”
