Hillsdale College Hosts USA Shooting Development Camps with Legends of the Sport

Hillsdale College hosts USA Shooting Junior Olympic Development Shotgun Camps featuring 12 current and former National Shotgun Team Members and Olympians as instructional staff. The three-day all-inclusive camp gives athletes ages 12-20 the opportunity to hone their skills on Hillsdale’s newly expanded Shotgun range.

Current National and Assistant Coaches joining the instructional staff include Jay Waldron, Lance Bade, and Joe Buffa, along with former and current National Team members and Olympians like Corey Cogdell-Unrein, Morgan Craft, Frank Thompson, Aeriel Skinner, Caitlin Conner, Nic Moschetti, Will Hinton, Glenn Eller, and Derrick Mein.

"It’s awesome to be in Hillsdale and kick off our first Junior Olympic Development Camp,” said National Team Coach, Jay Waldron. “It’s always been a vision of the shotgun program to involve veteran team members to help mentor and develop the next generation of competitors. Hillsdale’s commitment to building world-class facilities and their partnership with USA Shooting is making that a reality.”

Home of the USA Shooting National Team, Hillsdale College’s John Anthony Halter Shooting Sports Education Center boasts an impressive state-of-the-art range with over 113 acres, four international skeet fields, five Olympic bunkers, and a 22 station sporting clays course.

The camp kicked off June 132021, and runs through June 24, 2021, featuring both skeet and bunker sessions.

Immediately following the camp, USA Shooting and Hillsdale College will host the 2021 USA Shooting National Shotgun Junior Olympics, the first Shotgun Junior Olympics held at the Halter Center.
